Kenmare

Ireland
Kenmare sits where the Kerry Mountains drop into the Atlantic at the head of Kenmare Bay, with its name meaning "head of the sea" in Irish. The N70 Ring of Kerry connects it to Cork (97km) and Killarney (33km), making it a grand base for exploring the peninsula. You can drive the full Ring of Kerry in a day or pop over to Killarney National Park nearby. The town's main square has a unique X-shaped layout from the 1770s, designed by the Marquess of Lansdowne for his planned settlement. With about 10 fast charging stations around, electric cars can manage the scenic drives to Sneem and beyond without bother.
