Kelloe is a former County Durham mining village reached via the A177 from Durham city, about 8 miles east. The A1(M) lies 10 miles west for longer journeys, while locals use the B6291 for north-south travel to Spennymoor. Over 150 EV charging points serve the area. The old colliery's Pithead Baths building still stands, now housing Elemore Auto Parts behind its original Victorian railings.
