Kaimes is a modern residential area in Edinburgh's southern suburbs, built as part of the capital's late-20th-century expansion toward the Pentland Hills. Access is via the A701 through Liberton or from the A720 city bypass at Straiton junction, connecting to the M8 and major Scottish routes. The enormous IKEA Edinburgh serves as the area's most recognizable landmark.
