Jesmond is Newcastle's most sought-after suburb, sitting just north of the city centre amongst Victorian terraces and tree-lined streets. Most visitors arrive via the A167 from town or the A1 from further afield, with the airport 20 minutes northwest. The neighbourhood's crown jewel is Jesmond Dene, a hidden valley where a restored Victorian waterwheel still turns beside medieval mill ruins.
