Irstead is a small Norfolk Broads village reached via the A1062 and local roads from Norwich (20km southwest) or Great Yarmouth (15km east). The area's flat marshland terrain and waterways create the distinctive Broads landscape. St. Michael's Church houses a remarkable 14th-century rood screen with painted saints that survived the Reformation.
