Ireby is a quiet Cumbrian village on the northern edge of the Lake District, reached via the B5299 from either Cockermouth or Wigton. It's about 20 miles from Carlisle via the A595 and local roads. The village serves as a peaceful base for exploring the less touristy northern fells, with around 14 EV charging points nearby. St James Church houses a remarkable Norman font carved from a single sandstone block.
