Iping is a small South Downs village in West Sussex, reached via the A272 between Midhurst and Petersfield. Most visitors arrive from the A3 via Petersfield (15km) or from Chichester via the A286 and Midhurst. The village sits in the Rother Valley amongst gentle chalk hills and ancient woodlands. H.G. Wells famously used Iping's Coach and Horses pub as the setting for scenes in "The Invisible Man."
