Hynish sits at the western tip of Tiree, one of Scotland's most exposed but surprisingly sunny islands. Getting there means driving to Oban then taking the four-hour CalMac ferry, or flying direct from Glasgow to Tiree Airport. The settlement anchors the island's lighthouse heritage with its museum dedicated to the towering Skerryvore Lighthouse built from this remote shore station.
