Howton

England

England

Howton is a small Herefordshire market town near the Welsh border, positioned in the Monnow Valley with views toward the Black Mountains. The A465 provides the main east-west connection, whilst the B4347 links north to Ewyas Harold and the Golden Valley. Most visitors arrive from Hereford (20km northeast) or Monmouth (15km south), with the A40 nearby for longer journeys. The 13th-century church tower houses one of the county's oldest sets of bells, still rung weekly.
