Horncliffe is a small Borders village on the A698, three miles from Coldstream where the road crosses into England. The A68 from Edinburgh connects via local routes, whilst the A1 provides access from the south via Berwick-upon-Tweed. The village features the remarkable 1820 suspension bridge over the Tweed, designed by Captain Samuel Brown as one of Britain's earliest surviving chain suspension bridges.
