Holwick is a remote Pennine village in upper Teesdale, reached via the B6277 from Middleton in Teesdale. This scattered farming settlement sits on high moorland within the North Pennines AONB, surrounded by traditional stone walls and sheep pastures. The village serves as a gateway to High Force, England's largest unbroken waterfall by volume, just three kilometres downstream.
