Holne perches on Dartmoor's southern edge, reached via the A38 to Buckfastleigh then country lanes through Buckfast. The village provides access to the moor's granite tors and serves walkers heading onto ancient tracks. About 30 EV charging points operate nearby in Buckfastleigh and Ashburton. The parish church holds a memorial to Charles Kingsley, who penned "The Water Babies" and was born in the local vicarage.
