Holmside is a former mining village in County Durham, sitting between Stanley and Chester-le-Street. The A693 provides the main route through the area, connecting to the A1(M) for Newcastle (15km) and longer journeys south. Local roads link to nearby Sacriston and Edmondsley. With over 300 EV charging points across the region, electric vehicle access is well covered. The preserved Victorian pithead baths, now an auto parts shop, still display their original ornate railings.
