Hoe is a tiny Surrey Hills settlement near Shere, accessed via the A25 between Guildford and Dorking. Most visitors come from London via the A3, then take country lanes through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village sits on a distinctive spur of high ground that gives it its Old English name meaning "heel of land."
