Hillerton lies in mid-Devon's countryside, about 15km northwest of Exeter via the A377 through Crediton. The A3072 from Okehampton provides northern access, whilst the B3220 offers a prettier route through the Taw Valley. It's well-placed for both Dartmoor and Exmoor, with the A30 20km south for longer journeys. The 13th-century church boasts a remarkably preserved medieval painted screen.
