High Beechburn is a small County Durham village near Crook, reached via the A690 from Durham or A68 from Bishop Auckland. The elevated location offers typical Pennine foothill scenery, with numerous former mining settlements clustered within a few kilometres. Electric vehicle charging is well-covered with over 100 fast chargers nearby. The village sits just one kilometre from Low Beechburn, both named after the beech woods that historically covered these hillsides.
