Hessay is a small North Yorkshire village sitting northwest of York in typical Vale of York farmland. Access is via the A59 from York or Harrogate, with most visitors using the A1237 ring road then local routes through Upper Poppleton. The village retains its agricultural character with traditional stone cottages, and sits along an ancient Roman road route with original sections still visible in local field patterns.
