Herra lies on Fetlar in Shetland's North Isles, reached via two ferry connections from the Mainland through Yell. The journey from Lerwick takes about two hours, making this a destination for island-hoppers rather than day-trippers. Fetlar's claim to fame is hosting one of Scotland's few red-necked phalarope breeding colonies at the local RSPB reserve.
