Heads Nook is a small Cumbrian village 8km northeast of Carlisle, reached via the A689 from Junction 43 of the M6. The A69 provides the main east-west link to Newcastle. It's handy for Carlisle Lake District Airport (5km away) and offers good access to Hadrian's Wall sites. The 17th-century Howard Arms pub remains the village focal point with its original oak beams.
