Haytor's twin granite tors rise dramatically from Dartmoor's wild landscape, offering spectacular views across Devon's moorland. Access is via the A38 from Exeter or Plymouth, then the B3387 through Bovey Tracey. The narrow moorland roads require careful driving, particularly in winter weather. Over 80 EV charging points are available in nearby Newton Abbot. The site features the remarkable Haytor Granite Tramway, where rails were carved directly from granite bedrock in the 1820s.
