Hawkridge perches on Exmoor's moorland plateau, a small Somerset village surrounded by heather-clad hills and deep valleys. Access is via winding country lanes from Dulverton on the A396, or through scenic routes connecting nearby villages like Withypool. The 13th-century church of St. Giles houses an exceptionally fine medieval rood screen.
