Hawcoat forms part of Barrow-in-Furness on Cumbria's Furness Peninsula, sitting four kilometres from the town centre amongst the area's post-war housing estates. Reach it via the A590 from the M6 at Levens, then local roads through Dalton-in-Furness, or take the coastal A595 from West Cumbria. About 18 fast charging points serve the Barrow area for electric vehicles. Medieval stonework from nearby Furness Abbey still turns up in local gardens during building work.
