Harraby forms part of Carlisle's southern suburbs, sitting where Cumbria's hills begin to rise from the Eden Valley. The M74 provides the main north-south route, with Junction 44 offering access via the A7 bypass, whilst the A69 connects east to Newcastle. Local routes serve Workington and the western coast within 50km. The area has excellent EV charging infrastructure with over 50 public points nearby. Roman Hadrian's Wall sites, including the Castlesteads bath house, lie just northeast of the district.
