Hardraw is a tiny Yorkshire Dales village just off the A684, two kilometres from Hawes market town. Access is via the main Wensleydale road connecting Sedbergh and Leyburn, with narrow lanes linking surrounding villages like Appersett and Gayle. The village sits beneath limestone scars at 300 metres elevation, experiencing typical Dales weather of cool, damp conditions. England's highest single-drop waterfall above ground, Hardraw Force, plunges 30 metres behind the Green Dragon Inn.
