Halfpenny

Halfpenny is a small Cumbrian settlement just off the A590 between the M6 and Lake District. Access via Junction 36, then west toward Barrow. The village sits near several historic crossings of the River Kent, with good connections to Kendal and the southern lakes. It's named after the old halfpenny toll once charged at the local bridge crossing.
