Gwinear lies in west Cornwall between Hayle and RNAS Culdrose, accessible via the A30 and local roads. The A394 from Penzance (15km) and routes from Truro serve regional traffic, whilst the A30 brings long-distance visitors from across Britain. Several restored tin and copper mine engine houses dot the surrounding countryside.
