Guith perches on Stronsay's northeast coast in Orkney's outer islands, reached by ferry from Kirkwall then a 21-kilometer drive north through the island's scattered settlements. The exposed location brings persistent winds and views across to Eday and Sanday. Stone piers along the rocky shore mark where Orkney's whaling fleet once processed whale oil.
