Grizedale lies deep in the Lake District between Coniston Water and Windermere, serving as the main access point for the famous Grizedale Forest. Most visitors approach via the A590 and minor roads through Hawkshead, whilst locals use the scenic routes connecting Ambleside and Coniston. The forest contains over 40 outdoor sculptures woven into the woodland trails, including hidden works by Andy Goldsworthy amongst the ancient oaks.
