Greylake occupies the Somerset Levels, where reclaimed marshland creates an unusually flat landscape of geometric fields and straight drainage channels. The A39 provides the main access, with local roads branching off near Othery to reach the village. Most traffic consists of local journeys between the scattered Levels communities, though the area's approximately 70 EV charging points cater well to longer trips. The village sits within one of England's most distinctive landscapes, where 18th-century drainage schemes created an almost Dutch-like geometric pattern of fields and waterways.
