Greta Bridge

England
Greta Bridge straddles the A66 trunk road where it crosses from County Durham into North Yorkshire, making it a natural stop for drivers heading between the A1(M) and Lake District. The village sits in the Tees valley where the River Greta joins the main river, with Barnard Castle 6 miles southeast and Scotch Corner 10 miles east. The historic stone bridge that gives the village its name still carries the A66 over the River Greta today.
