Greensted lies in rural Essex between Chipping Ongar and Epping, reached via the M25 Junction 7 then the A414. Most visitors come from London's eastern suburbs or nearby Essex towns for countryside walks and historical interest. The village boasts St. Andrew's Church, home to what's believed to be the world's oldest wooden church still in use, with a nave built from split oak logs dating to around 1013 AD.
