Greensforge lies along the A449 between Wolverhampton and Kidderminster, with the A458 providing east-west links. Most visitors arrive via the M54 at Junction 2, then south on the A449. The village sits in the Staffordshire countryside near the canal, serving as a gateway between the Black Country and rural areas. Greensforge Lock on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal still operates its original 18th-century chambers for passing narrowboats.
