Greenodd sits where the River Leven meets Morecambe Bay, serving as a gateway between the southern Lake District and the Furness Peninsula. The A590 runs straight through the village, connecting the M6 at Kendal with Barrow-in-Furness and providing access to Coniston and Hawkshead via local roads. Most traffic consists of tourists heading to the lakes or coastal destinations, though there's steady local movement between Ulverston and the central fells. The village houses Greenodd Brewery, which has been crafting traditional ales in converted farm buildings since 1991.
