Gorof lies in the upper Swansea Valley between Ystradgynlais and Ystalyfera, where the Brecon Beacons meet the former coalfield. The A4067 provides the main route from Swansea (25km south) continuing north to the Beacons, whilst the A4109 connects westward to Ammanford. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 40 fast chargers nearby. The famous Dan-yr-Ogof cave system sits just minutes away, featuring some of Europe's most extensive underground rivers with chambers stretching far beyond the public tours.
