Glin sits on the Shannon Estuary in County Limerick, a tidy village where the N69 Wild Atlantic Way runs straight through the center. It's 45 kilometers from Limerick city via the N21, with good connections to Listowel (15km east) and Tarbert (20km west). The N69 hugs the estuary shoreline, making for a grand drive between Kerry and Limerick. Kerry Airport is 40 kilometers southwest. The village centers around Glin Castle, a Gothic Revival mansion from the 1780s that now operates as a luxury hotel with walled gardens running down to the water's edge.
