Glassel lies in Royal Deeside, about 30 kilometers west of Aberdeen via the A93. This small Aberdeenshire village sits among rolling hills where the Grampians begin their rise toward the Cairngorms. The A93 provides the main route from Aberdeen (40 minutes), continuing through nearby Banchory toward Ballater and Braemar. Local connections include the B974 north to Fettercairn. Red Beard's Well, a centuries-old natural spring, still provides fresh water beside the old coaching route.
