Glanmire is a handy commuter town eight kilometres east of Cork city along the River Glashaboy, with good links via the N25 to both Cork and Waterford. The M8 from Dublin connects through Little Island, while Cork Airport is just 15 minutes away on the N25. It's well positioned for exploring East Cork, including Fota Island Golf Course and the harbour area. The modern Glanmire Community College with its glass front serves as a proper landmark when you're coming in on the N25.
