Gilshochill forms part of Glasgow's northern suburbs, sitting between Maryhill and Summerston about 4km from the city centre. The A879 Maryhill Road provides the main route south into Glasgow, whilst the A82 connects northwest towards Loch Lomond. The area sits on elevated ground typical of Glasgow's drumlin landscape, with over 350 EV charging points available across the northwest districts. The name derives from Gaelic, meaning "hill of the servants."
