Georth lies in central Mainland Orkney, connected to Kirkwall and the western settlements via the A965. Most visitors arrive by ferry to Stromness then drive east, or fly into Kirkwall Airport and head west. The city sits amongst Orkney's characteristic rolling farmland, with over 30 EV charging points reflecting the islands' renewable energy focus. Georth operates one of the archipelago's last working flagstone quarries.
