Gedney is a small fenland town in Lincolnshire, reached via the A17 which connects King's Lynn to Newark-on-Trent. Local routes serve nearby Holbeach and Long Sutton, whilst longer journeys use the A17 to reach the A1. The flat agricultural landscape supports extensive market gardening. St. Mary Magdalene church houses a remarkable 13th-century stone rood screen, amongst the few remaining in England.
