England

Garths is a small Cumbrian settlement between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, reached via the A6 or local roads from M6 Junction 36 near Kendal. The area offers good access to both national parks, with the A65 connecting eastward and the A590 serving the southern Lakes. Electric vehicle charging is available at over 40 points around Kendal and along the M6. The name derives from Old Norse "garth" meaning enclosed yard, and traditional dry stone walls still mark the ancient field boundaries.
