Friesland lies on Coll, one of Scotland's Inner Hebrides, reached by CalMac ferry from Oban (2 hours 45 minutes) or occasionally by light aircraft via Coll Airport. The island's single main road connects all settlements, whilst the maritime climate brings changeable weather year-round. The western shores boast some of Scotland's most spectacular unspoilt sandy beaches.
