Freshwater occupies the western tip of the Isle of Wight, reached via ferry from Portsmouth or Southampton then the A3054 west. The town connects to Newport and the ferry ports via this main route, whilst local roads like the B3322 serve the western peninsula. With over 70 EV charging points island-wide, electric vehicles are well catered for. The dramatic chalk cliffs at Freshwater Bay feature a famous natural arch carved by coastal erosion.
