Frankwell forms part of Shrewsbury's western suburbs, connected to the historic town centre by the elegant 18th-century Welsh Bridge across the River Severn. The A5 from Birmingham and A458 from Wales converge here, making it a natural gateway to Shrewsbury. The area sits in the Severn valley with its characteristic river mists and mild climate.
