Fowey perches at the mouth of its namesake river on Cornwall's south coast, where narrow streets tumble down wooded slopes to a busy natural harbour. The A3082 from the A390 at Lostwithiel provides the main access, whilst the B3269 from Par offers a prettier alternative through typical Cornish countryside. The historic Bodinnick car ferry still operates year-round across the estuary, maintaining a crossing that's served travellers since medieval times.
