Foveran is a small Aberdeenshire village about 15 miles north of Aberdeen, reached via the A90 trunk road and B999 junction near Balmedie. The A947 provides an inland alternative route. Aberdeen International Airport is roughly 10 miles south. The 12th-century parish church houses an exceptional collection of Pictish symbol stones, including the enigmatic Foveran Stone with its mysterious carved symbols.
