Fort Matilda is a residential area within Greenock on the Clyde, about 40km west of Glasgow via the M8 and A8. The district sits on elevated ground with Clyde views, connected locally by the A770 from Gourock. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 50 fast chargers nearby. The area takes its name from a Victorian coastal fort, and the original powder magazine from the 1860s still survives behind modern housing on Eldon Street.
