Forres lies on the A96 between Inverness and Aberdeen, making it a convenient stop for long-distance travelers. The A940 heads south to the Cairngorms, whilst local routes serve Elgin and coastal villages. With around 12 fast EV charging points and its sheltered position in the fertile Laigh of Moray, it's well-equipped for modern travel. The town's crown jewel is Sueno's Stone, a magnificent 20-foot Pictish monument covered in intricate 9th-century battle carvings.
