Finstown lies along the A965, Orkney's main road connecting Kirkwall to the western parishes and ancient sites like Skara Brae. Most visitors pass through en route from Kirkwall Airport, about 15 kilometres away, whilst locals use it for daily commutes to town. The village sits at the head of the Bay of Firth, offering expansive water views toward Rendall's distinctive hills.
