Fiddown is a handy village on the River Suir in County Kilkenny, sitting right on the N24 between Waterford (15 minutes) and Carrick-on-Suir. It's about 45 kilometers from Kilkenny city via the R700 and N10. The village makes a good stopping point for drivers crossing the southeast, with decent EV charging options in nearby Waterford and Kilkenny. Waterford Airport is 20 kilometers southeast. The real charm here is Fiddown Island in the river, a small wooded spot you can walk to at low tide that locals have been using as their own riverside retreat for ages.
